THE BENEFITS OF EATING NUTS

THE BENEFITS OF EATING NUTS

Our nougat and biscuits are packed with delicious almond and macadamia nuts, and it is so good to know that nuts are in fact so good for our bodies. Just a handful a day gives you a powerful punch of vitamins, minerals and fats which all help our bodies and brain to function. Check out these facts why nuts are so good for us:

Good fats

Nuts contain mono and polyunsaturated fats. These fats are essential for our health as they manage and maintain the normal structure of every cell in our bodies. The ‘bad’ fats (saturated and trans fats) that are found in meats, full-fat dairy, fried and processed foods. Choosing the healthy fats help eradicate cholesterol and decrease inflammation in our bodies.

Fibre

Fibre slows down digestion which in turn keeps us fuller for longer and helps us to eat less! This is only one of fibre’s many healthy benefits – other benefits include decreased cholesterol and reduces risk of colon cancer and other colonic diseases.

Plant protein

The world has adopted the way of life to eat cleaner and simpler like our cavemen ancestors did! This diet means eating leaner meats, fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains and less processed, sugary and fatty foods. Nuts are the perfect source of plant based protein, carbs and fats!

Magic Minerals

Nuts contain minerals such as magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and calcium which all help bone development, immune system support and energy production. One small handful of calcium contains 75mg’s of calcium.
